(The River Tour was a concert tour featuring Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band that took place in 1980 and 1981, beginning concurrently with the release of Springsteen's album The River.) 

 

The River is the fifth studio album by by American (from Jersey Shore) rock songwriter, singer and musician Bruce Springsteen. It was released on October 17, 1980. Springsteen's only double album, it was produced by Jon Landau, Springsteen, and bandmate The E Stret Band Steven Van Zandt. The album was Springsteen's first to go #1 on the Billboard 200 and spent four weeks at the top of chart.
