 Slipknot is the debut studio album by American (from Des Moines, Iowa) nu heavy alternative groove metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 29, 1999. Producer Slipknot - Ross Robinsoni. This is the only album to feature original guitarist Josh Brainard who left at the end of recording in late 1998 while the band was taking a brief break.The album peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200, and has gone on to become certified double platinum in the United States, making it the band's best-selling album. In 2011, it was voted the best debut album of the last 25 years by readers of Metal Hammer magazine. The album became the "biggest selling extreme metal album" at the time.On September 9, 2009, Slipknot released a special edition version of the album to commemorate the tenth anniversary of its release. It was released in two forms, a digipak and a box set.
