"Rock Around the Clock" is a rock and roll song (written by Max C. Freedman and James E. Myers "Jimmy De Knight") by American r’n’r band Bill Haley & His Comets, released in 1954. Produced by Mitt Gabler. The best-known and most successful record of the genre and it was a number one single on both the United States and United Kingdom charts and also reentered the UK Singles Chart in the 1960s and 1970s. That success, on Decca, prompted a re-release on Brunswick in the UK, and this time, the song really took off, spending three weeks at No. 1 in November and December.
 
 
Shake, Rattle and Roll is the title of an early rock and roll compilation album by American rock and roll band Bill Haley & His Comets, released in 1955. Produced by Milt Gabler. The single "Rock Around the Clock" became the biggest selling rock and roll single in the history of the genre and retained that position for some years.
