Rising (also known as Rainbow Rising) is the second studio album by English-American rock band Rainbow (with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, founding member of Deep Purple in 1968). It was released on May 17, 1976. Producer Martin Birch (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Fleetwood Mac, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, Iron Maiden…). Rising was voted the greatest heavy metal album of all time.
