Peter Gabriel (1: Car) is the debut studio album by English (from Chobham, Surrey) singer-songwriter instrumentalist Peter Gabriel (lead singer and flautist of the progressive rock band Genesis -- After leaving Genesis in 1975, Gabriel launched a highly successful solo career.), released on February 25, 1977. Producer Bob Ezrin. It peaked at #7 on the UK Albums Chart and #38 on the US Billboard 200. The album received the prize of the French Académie Charles Cros. Cover by Hipgnosis.
