The Cars is the eponymous debut studio album by the American (from Boston) new wave rock band the Cars. It was released on June 6, 1978 on Elektra Records. Producer Roy Thomas Baker. Critically, the album was well received. Rolling Stones magazine said "The pop songs are wonderful" and this first album should be called The Cars' Greatest Hits.
