1977 is the debut studio album by Northern Irish (from Downpatrick) rock band Ash. It was released on May 6, 1996. Producer Owen Morris - Ash.The album peaked at number one in the UK, as well as reaching the top 20 in Australia, Finland, New Zealand, Norway, and Switzerland. 1977 appeared on several UK publications' best-of-the-year album lists, by the likes of Kerrang!, NME, and Melody Maker, among others. The album would later be certified platinum in the UK.
