( ) is the third full-length album from Icelandic(from Reykjavík) post-rock band Sigur Rós, first released on October 28, 2002.This is the first album to feature drummer Orri Páll Dýrason who joined the band in 1999, replacing their previous drummer Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson. Producer Sigur Rós - Kenneth Vaughan Thomas. It reached No. 51 on the Billboard 200 and received acclaim from music critics. This album, for many the most quintessentially “Sigur Rós” record, celebrate its 20th anniversary on October 28, 2022 with a special reissue remastered (by legendary mastering engineer Ted Jenson at Sterling Sound) and expanded in a deluxe box.
Kveikur (pronounced [ˈkvɛɪkʏr], fuse or candlewick) is the seventh studio album from Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós.
It is the first album to be fully released through XL after the band
departed EMI and Parlophone during the label's acquisition by Universal
Music Group in 2012. It is the first album since their debut Von to not
feature Kjartan Sveinsson, following his departure in 2012. It was
released on June 17, 2013 internationally. The band has described the
